CM Yogi is strict regarding fog and cold, said – officers should be alert in the field, big action will be taken on overspeeding

Lucknow: In view of the dense fog and severe cold, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the officials to remain in alert mode across the state. The Chief Minister gave clear instructions to Divisional Commissioner, IG, District Magistrate, Police, Traffic and Municipal Corporation officials that negligence in the safety of life, traffic and destitute will not be tolerated at any level.

He clearly said that security arrangements should be kept tight from roads, streets, highways to expressways. Along with this, instructions have been given to increase patrolling on the expressway, take extra vigilance at black spots, deploy teams, keep cranes and ambulances available 24×7 and warn drivers about fog through loudspeakers at toll plazas. He gave instructions to ensure traffic management in poor visibility and also warned of strict action on overspeeding.

Chief Minister Yogi said that the possibility of accidents increases due to fog. In such a situation, availability of road lighting, reflectors, patrolling and emergency services should be ensured. Dark spots have been identified and instructions have been given to make better arrangements there immediately. It has been asked to improve the arrangements by coordinating with NHAI and State Highway officials.

no one should be found sleeping in the open

In view of the cold and cold wave, Chief Minister Yogi also directed that no person should be found sleeping in the open. The destitute should be taken to night shelters, where there is proper arrangement for heaters, bonfires and blankets. Even in cowsheds, it has been asked to ensure bonfire and other necessary arrangements to protect the cows from cold.

Administration issued ‘Travel Guideline’

– Keep the vehicle speed below the prescribed limit during fog.
– Use the vehicle’s fog lights and keep the headlights on low-beam.
– Keep emergency indicators on.
– Maintain sufficient distance from the vehicle moving ahead.
– Avoid changing lanes frequently on expressways.
– Do not overtaking at all.
– If the fog is very dense, do not take risks.
– Be sure to install reflector tape behind your vehicles.
