Lucknow, Read: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that trust and technology have become the two main bases of transformation of the state. Due to good governance and rule of law, the state’s economy has grown three times in the last nine years and the investment environment has strengthened.
The Chief Minister was interacting with a delegation of senior officers of the Indian Armed Forces, armies of various countries and civil services of the Government of India undergoing training under the National Security and Strategic Studies Program organized by the National Defense College, New Delhi on Monday. The Chief Minister said that before 2017, law and order in the state was a big challenge, but the government effectively controlled illegal extortion and anarchy by establishing rule of law. Investment and development have gained new momentum due to better law and order. He said that today about 55 percent of the expressways of the country are in Uttar Pradesh and the state is rapidly moving towards the development of infrastructure.
The Chief Minister said that the Defense Industrial Corridor is developing rapidly in the state. BrahMos missile manufacturing unit is being set up in Lucknow, which will provide opportunities to many small industries as an anchor unit. Defense sector investments are also increasing in Kanpur and other nodes. He informed that the country’s largest international airport is under construction in Jewar and the Ganga Expressway is nearing completion. To modernize law and order, cyber forensic laboratories, mobile forensic vans and 75 cyber police stations have been established in all the divisions of the state.
Chief Minister Yogi said that the benefits of the schemes are reaching the eligible people directly through the direct benefit transfer system. Transparent ration distribution is being done through electronic machines at about 80 thousand fair price shops in the state. More than one crore destitute women, elderly people and disabled people are being given a pension of Rs 12 thousand every year directly in their accounts.
During the dialogue, officials raised questions regarding effective implementation of policies. On this, the Chief Minister said that for the success of any policy, it is necessary to fix time-limit, regular monitoring and accountability. Referring to his foreign tours, the Chief Minister said that Japan’s civic sense, cleanliness and technical discipline are exemplary. The industry there has shown keen interest in investing in Uttar Pradesh and many investment proposals will be seen taking shape in the coming times.
The delegation was led by Air Marshal Manish Kumar Gupta. It included senior officers from the Indian Armed Forces, armies and civil services of various countries.
