CM Yogi gave a big gift to small and marginal farmers, now they will get loan at only six percent interest.

Lucknow. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Youth Sahakar Conference and UP Co-operative Expo-2025 on Sunday at the Jupiter Hall of Indira Gandhi Pratishthan under the International Year of Co-operation 2025. The Chief Minister also honored those who did special work in this field. During this period, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave a big gift to small and marginal farmers. He said that the rate of interest of UP Cooperative Gram Vikas Bank within the state is about 11.5 percent. Farmers have to pay a lot of interest on this. The government is moving towards reducing it. Small and marginal farmers can now get these loans at just 6 percent. Under the Chief Minister Krishak Samridhi Yojana in the state, loans at six percent will be made available through LDB. The remaining contribution will be made by the state government.

With the inspiration of PM Modi, many steps were taken towards strengthening cooperation.

CM Yogi said that the Central Government led by PM Modi formed a new Ministry of Cooperation for the first time. Earlier it used to be a small dimension under the Ministry of Agriculture. As the first Cooperative Minister, Amit Shah ji is giving new heights to the cooperative movement. The United Nations has declared the year 2025 as the International Year of Cooperation. With the inspiration of PM Modi, we have taken many steps towards strengthening cooperation. Co-operation is also a guarantee of mutual trust, social equality and self-reliance. One fourth of the world’s cooperative societies are in India. Of these, more than 8.44 lakh committees and more than 30 crore members are ready to contribute as a collective force in the entire campaign.

Corruption free system is being created using technology in 11 years

CM Yogi said that in the last 11 years, we have seen in the changing India that a corruption-free system is being provided by making life simpler by using technology. Actions to ensure good governance and accountability in the cooperative sector have also increased through digitalization, e-governance and transparent policies. Through M PACS, the membership of multi-purpose primary rural cooperative societies has been expanded, financial inclusion has been added to it, agriculture and rural development have been enhanced and the cooperative movement has been strengthened.

CM Yogi enumerated the works done in UP

CM Yogi said that for the first time large-scale work was done in UP on the cooperative year 2025. The International Year of Co-operation was launched on 26 January. Thousands of people participated in Run for Corporation. AGM was organized by UP State Co-operative Limited on 21 March 2025, in which online dividend of Rs 76 crore was distributed to the stakeholders. Certificates were also distributed to 266 Drone Didis on the fourth foundation day of the Union Ministry of Cooperation on July 6, 2025. The mega campaign for M Pax membership started from 12 September to 30 November. In this, share capital of Rs 43 crore was also received through 24 lakh new members. MPAX membership campaign was organized for the first time in the state in September 2023. 30 lakh new members were formed and share capital of Rs 70 crore was received. Today there are more than two lakh bank accounts and deposits of Rs 550 crore in district cooperative banks.

No longer sick, co-operative banks are contributing to the prosperity of farmers

Referring to the plight of District Co-operative Banks, CM Yogi said that before 2017, 16 banks were declared defaulters. The Reserve Bank had confiscated their licenses, but now the co-operative banks of UP are not defaulters and sick, but are healthy themselves and are contributing to the prosperity of the farmers as well as the members associated with the co-operative. They are also working to expand many government schemes. He said that the UP government has given interest free loan limit of up to Rs 10 lakh to M Pax. We will take steps towards increasing it to Rs 15 lakh, but before that we will bridge the shortage of manpower. CM informed that 6760 MPEX have been sanctioned interest free loan of Rs 10 lakh for fertilizer business. This has ensured continuous fertilizer supply. We have made an effort that half of the fertilizers, pesticides and chemicals distributed in the state should be distributed through cooperative-related M-Pax and resource cooperative societies, but manpower will have to be provided for this. If this arrangement is ensured in everyone, then farmers will join and the number of members will increase. M Pax did a business of Rs 6400 crore and earned a profit of Rs 191 crore. 161 M PACS has made arrangements to provide generic medicines in the form of Janaushadhi Kendra. Through this he has done a business of more than Rs 1 crore 86 lakh so far.

Till now, work worth Rs 70 crore has been done to strengthen 980 M PACS.

CM Yogi said that extensive changes have been seen in the co-operative sector for storage, energy and infrastructure in the state. Kothwa Pandey M Pax has built the largest warehouse of 1500 MT capacity through the Government of India schemes. The action of creating such storage is also increasing through 24 new packs in 2025-26. Installation of solar rooftop panels in 502 M Pax has been completed. Financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh was given to each M-PAX to repair all the dilapidated and old warehouses. So far, strengthening work of 980 M PACS has been done worth Rs 70 crore. An additional provision of Rs 30 crore has been made in 2025-26. More than 800 newly formed MPEX are being provided financial assistance by the government for upgradation. With a margin money of Rs 1 lakh, infrastructure work etc. was also expanded rapidly.

UP State Co-operative Bank established itself as A category bank from NABARD

CM Yogi said that UP State Co-operative Bank has now established itself as an A category bank from NABARD. Today 40 branches are being operated by it in the state. All 50 district co-operative banks are now earning dividends. Earlier many were ill and the rest were also moving towards becoming ill. If the disease was treated in time, everyone became healthy. In 2024-25, the Co-operative Bank has earned a profit of more than Rs 162 crore two lakhs.

Co-operative sector was ruined due to mafia rule of previous governments

CM Yogi said that this is what happens when a good government comes. Previous governments used to maintain one district-one mafia. The co-operative sector has been ruined due to the mafia rule of the previous governments. Farmers’ capital was stuck. Gradually Rs 4700 crore was returned to the farmers. Now the bank is again doing its work and growing. The state got freedom from mafia. Now the state is moving in the direction of One District, One Co-operative Bank. The process of formation of a new District Co-operative Bank in Balrampur has progressed.

Youth is the architect of the future of cooperative movement

CM Yogi said that our youth are the architects of the future of the cooperative movement. Youth Cooperation Conference will prove to be a milestone in the prosperity of the state. The PM has given the vision of ‘Prosperity through cooperation’ and ‘Self-reliance through cooperation’ through the Government of India that the cooperative movement will have to be carried forward with equal strength to realize the vision of a developed India in 2047. CM appealed to the youth to take training towards becoming cooperative craftsmen. Take honest initiatives in that direction. Also work towards delivering results through teamwork.
