CM Yogi’s big action in the case of extortion of Rs. 2.5 lakhs in Lucknow’s Gautampalli police station, made the entire staff including SHO present in line

Lucknow. A major action has created a stir within the Police Department in Lucknow, the capital of UP. After serious allegations of alleged corruption and illegal extortion in Gautampalli Police Station, on the instructions of the Police Commissioner, the entire staff of the police station has been put on the line. All policemen including Police Station Head (SHO) Ratnesh Kumar Singh are involved in this action. Allegation of recovery of Rs 2.5 lakh, confirmed in investigation

According to sources, two days ago a person was taken into custody by the police and brought to Gautampalli Police Station. It is alleged that about Rs 2.5 lakh was recovered from this person. After the matter came to light, it was taken very seriously and its investigation was conducted directly at the Commissioner of Police (CP) level. During the investigation, on the basis of many facts and evidence, it became clear that the allegations of extortion were not baseless, but there was truth in them. After this, the higher officials took strict action with immediate effect and put the entire police station staff in line.

Entire staff including SHO present in line

As part of the action, Inspector Ratnesh Kumar Singh, in-charge of Gautampalli Police Station, has also been put on the line. Apart from them, all the constables and other policemen posted in the police station have also been taken under the scanner of this action. This kind of collective action is rarely seen in the police department, from which the seriousness of this matter can be gauged. Line appearance means that the concerned policemen have been removed from their posts with immediate effect and posted in the police line, where further departmental action will be taken against them.

After the incident, the administration took immediate action and handed over the command of Gautampalli Police Station to a new officer.
