CM Yogi’s big decision after Lucknow fire, security audit of coaching centers across UP

After the horrific fire incident in Lucknow, the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has come into full action mode. Now even a little negligence of the coaching institutes in the state is going to be very costly for their operators. Amidst the clear instructions of the Chief Minister not to compromise at any cost with the safety of lakhs of students preparing for competitive examinations in Uttar Pradesh, a big and special campaign is being run against illegal coaching centers across the state. Along with this, it has been decided to conduct strict security audit of the institutions which are already registered.

While giving information about this big decision, Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that strict instructions have been issued to all the District Magistrates (DMs) of the state. They have been asked to prepare a complete list by conducting a comprehensive survey of all the big and small coaching institutes operating in their respective districts. Strictest legal action as per rules is being ensured against those coaching institutes which are found not registered under the Uttar Pradesh Coaching Regulation Act, 2002.

This mega campaign of the government will continue against illegal coaching.

While talking to the media, the Higher Education Minister made it clear that the coaching institutes which are already registered are also not going to get any kind of exemption. Registered institutions are also being strictly inspected as per the prescribed security standards. This special inspection campaign mainly includes a thorough investigation of the coaching institute’s building arrangements, fire fighting system, electrical safety and other necessary seating arrangements of the students.

Any kind of irregularity, deficiency or negligence will not be tolerated at all during inspection. Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that the Yogi government is working continuously day and night to ensure discipline, transparency and accountability in the entire education system of the state. For us the interests of the students and their parents are paramount. With mutual coordination of all concerned departments, it is being ensured that every coaching institute operating in the state follows 100% of the prescribed government standards.

There will be strict round the clock monitoring of coaching institutes in Uttar Pradesh

The Higher Education Minister further said that as per the intention of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a safe, systematic and completely reliable educational environment is being created in Uttar Pradesh for the youth preparing for higher education and various competitive examinations. The top priority of the government is that every student should get a safe learning environment along with quality education.

An official letter has also been issued by Nidhi Srivastava, Special Secretary, Higher Education Department, regarding ensuring 100 percent compliance with the standards set by the government in coaching institutes. Through this letter, all administrative officers have been given permission to take immediate action against those who violate the rules.

There will not be even an iota of compromise on the life and safety of students

The administration has made it clear that there will be no compromise on the safety of students in future. The campaign is being run by all the District Magistrates of the state by forming special teams in their respective districts. Under this, institutions operating illegally without registration are being identified and effective compliance is being ensured as per the strict provisions of the Act. Along with this, regular surprise inspections of students’ safety, basic infrastructure facilities and administrative arrangements are also being conducted in registered institutions, so that any untoward incident can be averted in time.

On the other hand, politics in the state has also heated up on this whole matter. The Deputy CM of Uttar Pradesh has retaliated sharply on the attacks of the opposition regarding the Lucknow fire incident. Deputy CM has said that Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav should not do petty politics on this sensitive incident. The government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate this entire matter and as soon as the detailed investigation report of the SIT comes out, such action will be taken against the culprits which will set an example for the entire state.
