CM Yogi’s order: Alert in entire UP, implemented in all districts!

Lucknow: In view of the festival of Holi, CM Yogi Adityanath has issued a high alert for transport and road safety in entire Uttar Pradesh. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Transport Department has started special preparations in all the districts of the state, so that accidents and traffic problems can be prevented during the festival.

This year, strict vigil will be kept on Holi especially on overspeeding, drunken driving, overloading and those driving without helmet or seat belt. Apart from this, provision of two drivers in long distance buses has been made mandatory.

Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh has directed that from February 28 to March 9, additional buses will be run for passengers going from Delhi to eastern Uttar Pradesh. Keeping in mind the passenger facilities, additional buses have also been arranged from Lucknow and Kanpur. Even after Holi, adequate buses will be available from Delhi, Jaipur, Kanpur and Lucknow to major cities of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Strict rules and monitoring

All corporation buses will run through ETM (Electronic Ticket Machine) only. The authorities will have the right to take strict action against any kind of negligence. Special checking campaign will be conducted on major routes and national and state highways. Carrying flammable materials or gas cylinders in vehicles will be completely prohibited. If any bus is caught violating the rules, an alternative bus will be made available for the convenience of the passengers.

Strictness on driving after drinking alcohol

Regular testing will be done with breath analyzer against those who drink and drive. Apart from this, divisional and regional officers will run public awareness campaigns. The control room will remain active for seven days during Holi and officials will definitely answer phone calls from common people to ensure quick resolution of problems.

Complete ban on unfit buses ensured

All districts and transport corporations will ensure that unfit buses are not operated, so that the safety of passengers can be completely ensured. As per the guidelines of CM Yogi, this scheme has been implemented not only to increase security but also to ensure time and fuel saving of passengers during the festival.
