Coach Gambhir’s reaction on Dhoni’s post impressed fans

New Delhi: India won the championship by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final of T20 World Cup 2026 held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After this memorable victory, another interesting moment emerged.

Dhoni’s Instagram post

Former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni posted on Instagram to celebrate India’s success, “History made in Ahmedabad, many congratulations to the team, support staff and all the fans of Indian cricket around the world. Loved watching you play. Coach Sahab’s smile is so charming, it’s a great combination. Nice job. Enjoy guys (It’s better if I don’t write anything about Bumrah. He is a champion bowler).”

Gautam Gambhir’s reaction

Gautam Gambhir also reacted to Dhoni’s message. Expressing happiness over winning the T20 World Cup, he said, “And what could be a bigger reason to smile than this. It’s great to see you.” The conversation instantly went viral on social media and fans considered it a positive sign for Indian cricket.

Dhoni’s presence in the stadium

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was present in the stadium during the final match. He was seen standing near the trophy on the field with 2024 T20 World Cup winning captain Rohit Sharma. Pictures of this moment also went viral on social media.

After losing the toss, the Indian team batted first and performed brilliantly. Openers Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan played quick half-centuries. All three scored runs at a strike rate of more than 200. Shivam Dubey showed aggressive play in the last over. With the efforts of all these, India scored a huge score of 255 runs.

The bowlers made the job easy

New Zealand had a very bad start while chasing the target. The Indian bowlers maintained pressure from the beginning and did not give any opportunity to the opposing team to recover. New Zealand’s team disintegrated due to continuous falling of wickets and India won the match by a huge margin of 96 runs.
