‘Coach was booked for Rs 3 lakh’, Railways gave clarification on conducting Rudrabhishek in the train
A video is going viral on social media in which some people are seen performing Rudrabhishek in a VIP salon coach. Many pundits are chanting mantras in the moving train and a person is performing Rudrabhishek. It can be seen in the video that people sitting on the floor of the train are involved in the puja. Now that its video has surfaced, questions are being raised as to how it got permission? Some people are also asking questions linking it to people being stopped from offering Namaz in the train. Now the Railways has clarified that whoever got this done had booked the saloon coach separately.
Many social media users also asked questions to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnan and Railway Ministry regarding this. The video went viral within no time and Railways has also issued a statement on it. It has been told by the Railways that this incident took place on July 10 and booking was done for it. Let us tell you that railway salon cars can be booked for special occasions and according to the wish and availability of the booker, they can be added to different trains.

What explanation did the Railways give?
Now Northern Railway has issued a statement clarifying this. The statement said, ‘This saloon coach was booked through IRCTC on July 8. Those who made commercial booking had also made an advance payment of Rs 308580 for this. This coach was to be added to Paschim Express i.e. 12926 when it ran from New Delhi to Mumbai on 10th July. Northern Railway had issued a notification for commercial run on July 10 itself.
The statement further said, ‘It is the entire responsibility of the Railways to take care of the convenience, safety and other things of the passengers. No one was injured in this incident. In this incident, the Pandit who was performing Rudrabhishek in the salon coach was called by the people who booked the coach.

Why is Salon Coach special?
According to the information available on the IRCTC website, this type of coach has a kitchen, windows, two bedrooms and many seats. Additionally, two attendants are also provided so that the passengers do not face any inconvenience. These coaches can be booked from any station and can be attached with any mail or express train.
