New Delhi : Coal India Limited issued a tender inviting bids from private service providers to conduct coal e-auction program for its subsidiaries over the next 2 years. In which the officials informed on Monday that.
This decision has been taken despite the move to internal e-auction platform in January this year. Stakeholders said that this move has confused external e-auction service providers like MSTC and mJunction and they want more clarity before taking a decision on participating in the tender.

Along with this, the last date for submitting applications is 27th November. According to reports, CIL has appointed its subsidiary CMPDI in collaboration with National Informatics Center to bring in an internal coal e-auction system. Let us tell you that after successful testing in 2023, changes have been successfully brought in the internal platform in January 2024. Due to which Coal India has had to look for external platforms for its e-auction. CIL's coal quantity through the e-auction platform is estimated to reach around 60 million tonnes by September 2024.
Another Coal India official said the objective of involving service providers to conduct e-auction is to provide more choice, and to keep CIL ready to meet the needs of the changing market and consumer requirements.
