Weather of 12 December 2025: There is a possibility of entry of new western disturbance in the mountains in the next 48 to 72 hours. Due to its effect, there are chances of light rain and snowfall in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Due to the effect of this new weather system, there will be severe winter with cold wave in North India. IMD has predicted that the rains will continue in South India.

The Meteorological Department said that winter will increase its impact in the states of North India. The fog will move towards its peak level. According to IMD, the weather will change rapidly in Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar. This will cause severe cold. At the same time, there is a possibility of light rain and snow in the mountains from December 13 due to the arrival of Western Disturbance. Due to its effect, there will be melting cold in Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. There is an alert of light rain in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and heavy rain in Andaman Nicobar and Islands from December 12.

Below average temperature in Delhi

There is an effect of winter in Delhi-NCR. AQI is around 300. This falls in the bad category. The minimum temperature in Delhi today may be 8.5 degrees. This is 1.0 degrees below this season’s average. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 24 degrees. the sky is clear. There is a forecast of light fog on Saturday. According to CPCB, AQI is classified as good between zero and 50, satisfactory between 51 and 100, moderate between 101 and 200, poor between 201 and 300, very poor between 301 and 400 and severe between 401 and 500.

Strong winds will blow in UP for 2 days

There may be partial movement of clouds in western Uttar Pradesh from next week. Strong cold winds will blow for the next 2 days. There will be dense fog in rural areas. In the districts where the temperature is lowest, the situation of frost is increasing. According to IMD, due to cold wave during the day, shivering cold is being felt in the evening.

Mercury reached five degrees in Nagaur

Winter continues in many parts of Rajasthan. The mercury has reached below four degrees Celsius in Fatehpur. According to the Meteorological Department, today the minimum temperature was 5 degrees in Nagaur, 5 degrees in Lunkaransar, 6 degrees in Dausa, 6 degrees in Jalore, 6.5 degrees in Karauli, 6.5 degrees in Sirohi, 7 degrees in Pali, 7.5 degrees in Jhunjhunu. It is expected to be 10 degrees in Jaipur. According to IMD, the weather is likely to remain dry in most parts for the next one week. However, due to the partial influence of a weak western disturbance, the next two-three days may remain partly cloudy. The minimum temperature may increase by one to two degrees. Another new Western Disturbance may become active over some parts of Northwest India around 18 to 20 December.

Below normal temperature in Punjab too

The minimum temperature has reached below normal at many places in Punjab. The lowest temperature is being recorded in Faridkot. The minimum temperature here is 4.9 degrees. The minimum temperature at many places is a few degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 6.7 degrees in Amritsar and 6.4 degrees in Ludhiana. This is slightly less than normal. The minimum temperature in Patiala was recorded at 7.4 degrees. This is two degrees less than normal. The minimum temperature was 6.9 degrees in Pathankot, 6.2 degrees in Bathinda and seven degrees in Gurdaspur. The mercury was recorded at 6.9 degrees in Chandigarh. This is three degrees less than normal.

Cold wave outbreak in Haryana

Cold wave continues in Haryana. According to IMD, the minimum temperature was recorded at 8.7 degrees in Ambala, 6.4 degrees in Hisar, 6.5 degrees in Karnal, six degrees in Narnaul, 7.8 degrees in Rohtak, 7.5 degrees in Bhiwani and 7.2 degrees in Sirsa. After December 15, due to the weakening western disturbance over the mountains, the temperature will increase slightly, but the gusts of cold winds will disturb the clearing sky.

Temperature drops to minus 2 degrees in Srinagar

The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature was recorded at minus 3.2 degrees in Qazigund, minus 4 degrees in Kupwara, minus 1 degree in Kokernag, and minus 4.3 degrees in Pahalgam. The temperature in Gulmarg reached 0 degrees.
