Cold wave wreaks havoc from UP, Punjab to Rajasthan, how will be the effect of cold in the next five days, alert from Meteorological Department
New Delhi: Cold has started reaching its peak in many parts of North India. The temperature is falling rapidly in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, due to which people’s daily routine is getting affected. People are resorting to bonfires in many areas at night, while the effect of cold winds is being felt continuously during the day. The minimum temperature in Delhi has remained below 10 degrees Celsius for the last few days, which shows the initial intensity of winter.
Temperature continues to fall in Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 8.4 degrees Celsius at 5:30 am on Wednesday. The department estimates that the temperature in the capital is likely to remain at this level for the next five days. This means that at present the chances of getting relief from cold are very less.
Light sunshine during the day, cold will increase in the morning and evening
The Meteorological Department has issued a detailed forecast for the next five days for Delhi. The maximum temperature is expected to be between 24 to 25 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may remain around 8 to 9 degrees Celsius. Light fog conditions are also expected to persist, due to which the effect of cold may increase further in the morning and late night.

11 December – Maximum 25°C, minimum 7°C, light fog
The minimum temperature is likely to reach 7 degrees on December 11, due to which a slight increase in cold may be seen.
Cold wave from Himachal to Rajasthan
According to the warning issued by the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of dense fog in many areas of Himachal Pradesh today. Visibility may be affected due to increase in fog, which will also affect traffic. Apart from this, there are chances of cold wave in some areas of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan. Strong cold winds in the morning and evening can further increase the problems of people in these areas.
