Coldplay member Chris Martin arrives at Mumbai airport with partner Dakota Johnson
Chris Martin, the lead singer of the well-known UK band Coldplay, was seen with his partner Dakota Johnson, at the Mumbai airport. He gestured “namaste” to the photographers as he landed in Mumbai.
The British band’s ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ schedule includes three performances at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on January 18, 19, and 21. The fourth performance is scheduled for January 25 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Singer Chris Martin and the Coldplay concert organizers have received a notice from Ahmedabad’s District Child Protection Unit, asking them not to allow children on stage during the January 25–26, 2025, performance at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
Additionally, the organizers have been instructed to make sure that no kids enter the performance venue without wearing earplugs or other hearing protection.
The Unit has pointed out that children’s health may be seriously jeopardized by sound levels that surpass 120 dB during the performance.
The District Child Protection Unit in Ahmedabad will take severe measures if these instructions are not followed.
The notification was sent in response to a complaint that Chandigarh assistant professor of sociology Pandit Rao Dharnevar had filed.
Dharnevar told ANI that taking kids to concerts with loud noises and bright lights can be detrimental to their mental and physical development. He also underlined his resolve to protect children’s rights in the future by adopting comparable actions.
The Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s New Year’s Eve performance in Ludhiana was previously the subject of a complaint by Pandit Rao Dharnevar.
Due to this complaint, the District Commissioner of Ludhiana received an official notice from the Deputy Director of the Women and Child Department, Government of Punjab, requesting that they stop the singer from singing specific songs at his December 31, 2024, live performance.
In particular, the notification demanded that songs like “Patiala Pegg,” “5 Tara Theke,” and “Case (Jeeb Vicho Feem Labbiya),” even if their words were changed, be prohibited for allegedly endorsing drinking.
