India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has also broken its silence on this entire controversy. America on back foot: Attempt to damage control

Seeing the growing uproar, the spokesperson of the US Embassy in India tried to handle the matter. According to news agency PTI, the spokesperson clarified that President Trump considers India a great country. He also reminded that Trump has said many times that he has very good friends in top positions in India. However, Trump’s original post has done the damage it intended to do.

After all, what was that hate statement?

Let us tell you that this controversial statement was actually given by conservative writer and radio host Michael Savage, which Trump re-posted from his account. In his statement, Savage attacked ‘birthright citizenship’, saying, “Here a child becomes a citizen as soon as he is born and then they bring the whole family here from any ‘hell’ in the world like China or India.” Savage also alleged that English is no longer spoken in America because of immigrants and that they are taking away jobs from local people.
