Commercial LPG Gas Cylinder | The central government has announced a big relief decision for hotels, restaurants and various industries. Now the quota for commercial LPG cylinders has been directly increased from 50 percent to 70 percent. Petroleum Secretary Dr. This information was given in a letter sent by Neeraj Mittal to the States and Union Territories on 27 March 2026. Therefore, more gas will be available to hotel businesses than before. Until now many hotels and restaurants were running short of gas. Many hotels in the country have been closed in the last 15 days due to non-availability of gas. But now the central government has decided to increase the commercial gas cylinders required for hotels to 70 percent, so the hoteliers will get relief.
The government has also decided to give priority to some important industries. These include sectors such as steel, automobiles, textiles, chemicals and plastics. Especially industries that need LPG for heating and have no alternative to natural gas, will get the gas first. Besides, preference will be given to restaurants, hotels, dhabas, industrial canteens, food processing industries, dairy businesses, as well as canteens and community kitchens run by government or local bodies. However, to avail the additional 20 percent quota, the businesses concerned will have to register with the oil companies and apply for PNG at the gas distribution center in their city. According to the government, 5 kg LPG cylinders are also being provided for migrant workers and thousands of cylinders have been distributed so far. Earlier on March 21, commercial gas cylinders were distributed up to 50 percent. Now with the addition of another 20 percent, the business of professionals is likely to return to normal.
