Marxist Communist Party leader Saithlawi Majeed said dirty things about women, said- women are only for sleeping together.

New Delhi. Assembly elections are to be held in Kerala next year. Earlier, ruling Marxist Communist Party leader Seithlawi Majeed has been embroiled in controversy regarding one of his statements. Majeed has been elected as Panchayal member by winning the recently held civic elections. After this he said dirty things about women. Indian Union Muslim League leader Shihabuddin, a member of the opposition alliance United Democratic Front, has reportedly issued threats for making statements against women.

While addressing the public recently, Saithwali Majeed said that women coming into families after marriage should not be brought before strangers for voting. Also said that he should not be used to defeat him politically. According to a newspaper, Majeed said that women are only there to live or sleep with their husbands. Local IUML leader Shihabuddin had reportedly threatened political opponents that their hands would be chopped off if they touched party workers. The purported video of his speech at a public meeting held recently in Valancherry also went viral on social media. After this it was shown by TV channels. According to party sources, the comments were reportedly made after a clash between local party workers in connection with the municipal elections.

The Congress-led United Democratic Front got a decisive lead in the municipal elections held ahead of the assembly elections next year. Whereas the ruling Left Democratic Front has suffered a setback. At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party has captured the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation by demolishing the nearly four decade old fort of the Left Front.
