Next week i.e. between April 13 and April 19, banks are going to remain closed for a total of 4 days in different states of the country. According to the calendar released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), many big festivals like Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti and Bohag Bihu are falling next week, due to which banking operations will be affected. In such a situation, it would be better to resort to digital transactions.
Holidays will start in these states from Monday
With the beginning of next week, the shutters of banks will fall in some states. Banks will remain closed in states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on April 13 (Monday) on the occasion of Ugadi, Gudi Padwa and Cheti Chand. It will be like a long weekend for those who will find banks closed on Monday also after the holiday of Saturday and Sunday. In such a situation, customers are advised to arrange for their cash and other needs in advance.
Holidays across the country on Ambedkar Jayanti and Bihu
The most important holiday of the week will be on 14th April (Tuesday). Banks will remain closed almost in the entire country on the occasion of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti. On this day, due to Baisakhi, Tamil New Year and Bohag Bihu, bank branches from North to South India will not open. Immediately thereafter, on April 15 (Wednesday), operations in banks will remain disrupted in states like Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Assam due to Himachal Day and Bengali New Year (Pohela Baishakh).
Use digital banking and ATM
Despite continuous holidays, customers do not need to worry much. Online banking, mobile app and UPI services will remain operational 24 hours even if bank branches are closed. Apart from this, facility to withdraw cash from ATM will also be available. However, for tasks like depositing a check or getting a demand draft made, you will have to wait for the bank to open. There will be a weekly holiday on April 19 due to it being Sunday, due to which the week will also end with bank closure.
