Obra city, known as the energy capital of Uttar Pradesh, has become a center of unique humanitarian service and discipline these days. Here, the Protein Khichdi Bhandara, which has been being run continuously by Shri Ram Seva Samiti for the last several months, has now taken the form of a huge people’s movement. The foundation of this service campaign was laid by the committee’s founder and senior journalist Ajit Singh on 23 August 2025 (Shani Amavasya).

Today, till March 21, 2026, this service has become so widespread that about 1,000 people are taking prasad here with devotion every day. Starting at 5 pm, this Bhandara continues till late night, so that no helpless person in the area sleeps hungry at night. Chief patrons of the committee Om Prakash Singh, Sankat Mochan Jha, founder Ajit Kumar Singh and member Rita Kumari prepare this khichdi with their own hands. Green vegetables and 35 types of rare nutritious ingredients are used in it.

Founder Ajit Singh shared a special experience and said that ever since this Bhandara started, the crow king (bird) comes first and receives the prasad, which we consider to be a blessing from God. The quality and taste of Khichdi is discussed in the entire region, people eat it with great enthusiasm and also take it with them. Karni Sena District President Rahul Pratap Singh, Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh City President Sarvesh Dubey and Print Media District President Chandan Soni were present as chief guests in today’s special program.

An inspiring scene was seen in the program when after distribution of Prasad, Karni Sena District President Rahul Pratap Singh himself picked up the broom and cleaned the temple premises and surrounding areas. He gave the message that as much as feeding the hungry is a virtuous act, keeping one’s surroundings clean is an equally great devotion. The committee members regularly conduct cleanliness drives in the entire area after distribution.

An entire team is involved with the Chief Patron Rahul Pratap Singh to make this Mahayagya a success, which mainly includes the main team Poonam Singh (Yoga Guru), Sarita Singh, Karan Jagle, Shiv Kumar Pahari Baba, Pushpa Dubey, Avinash Srivastava, Kumar Saurabh Singh, Rajiv Tiwari, Ram Ashram Bind, Anil Gupta, Umashankar Kesari, Aditya Verma, Alok Pandey and Raju Seth.

Special support: This noble cause is also receiving special financial and moral support from two secret donors. Ajit Singh said that our main goal is not just to fill the stomach, but to bring about a change in the behavior and thinking of the society. With the resolve that if we change the world, the committee is working towards making Obra an ideal and clean city. The people and enlightened citizens of Obra have openly praised this ongoing Bhandara and cleanliness campaign.
