Congress attacks Mahayuti before elections, again targets Marathwada water crisis
New Delhi : Congress has once again targeted the ruling Mahayuti government regarding the water crisis in Marathwada region of Maharashtra. A day after the election campaign ended, the Congress on Tuesday alleged that the water crisis in the Marathwada region is a clear example of the failure of the Mahayuti. Party general secretary Jairam Ramesh also said that bureaucratic delays and changes in priorities of the BJP leadership have worsened the water crisis instead of solving it.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh posted on Mahayuti started reviving the water grid when it returned to power through horse-trading in 2022, but its implementation has been very slow. “No major relief has been given so far to the areas suffering from water shortage in Marathwada.”

Marathwada water crisis explained as failure of Mahayuti
He alleged that Marathwada's water crisis is a clear example of BJP and Mahayuti's inadequate planning and their failure to provide a permanent solution. Let us tell you that Congress has accused Mahayuti many times regarding the water crisis in Marathwada region. The ruling grand alliance includes the BJP, Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Recently, the Congress leader had cornered Prime Minister Narendra Modi on two other issues including the issue of water crisis in Marathwada and asked him three questions while posting on social media. He has repeated this allegation at a time when voting is to be held for 288 assembly seats of the state tomorrow i.e. on Wednesday, 20th November. After the voting, counting of votes will take place on 23rd November after which the state will get its new government.
