New Delhi, 30 June. The main opposition party Congress, amid the political storm over the theft of offerings in the Ram temple in Ayodhya, attacked the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that PM Modi should break his silence in this matter and apologize to the devotees.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinet, while addressing the Ahood press conference at the party office here on Tuesday, said that BJP people have grabbed the money of the devotees. He alleged that the offerings made to the Ram temple in Ayodhya had been stolen. Called it a big sin.

He should break his silence and apologize to the devotees for this deception. His silence raises many big questions.

Referring to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Congress spokesperson said that it is not an ordinary trust. This was announced by Narendra Modi in February 2020. Its office-bearers are those who have been associated with the RSS all their lives, who have worked as volunteers of the Sangh. Some of these are favorites of PM Modi, while some of (Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister) Yogi Adityanath.

Referring to Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai and other leaders being placed under house arrest before the visit to Ram Temple, he said, ‘Today Congress leaders are being placed under house arrest across Uttar Pradesh in their homes. All this is being done against the opposition so that those who looted Lord Ram can escape.
The Congress spokesperson also asked many sharp questions to the government on this matter. He asked, ‘Who are the people associated with the theft in Ram temple? Why was there a delay in filing FIR after allegations of theft of donations? Who is protecting (former General Secretary of the Trust) Champat Rai?

Supriya Shrinet said that the temple of Lord Shri Ram is a symbol of faith, trust and respect. Crores of people across the country have faith in this temple and that is why people donated. But the BJP government and the trust have betrayed the trust of crores of Hindus.

He demanded from the Yogi government that the report of the SIT investigation should be made public. Also, an impartial audit of all the donations received so far should be conducted. Describing it as a mega-scam, he also demanded an investigation by the sitting judge of the Supreme Court.
