Before the elections of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Maharashtra, the stir in the politics of Maharashtra has intensified. After the Assembly elections, BMC elections are the most important and are no less than a litmus test for both the ruling party and the opposition. Before these elections, there has been a rift in the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Congress has decided to contest elections separately from Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar’s party in both Mumbai and Pune. Congress has taken this decision because of the alliance of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) and Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). Angered by this decision, Shiv Sena (UBT) is now angry at Congress.
Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey, while talking to the media, accused Congress of taking advantage of Shiv Sena (UBT). He said, ‘Before 2019, the Congress boat had sunk in the middle of the sea. Our party took our boat and rescued them. They brought him to the shore, gave him tea and water and as soon as he regained consciousness, he snatched our boat and ran away. How many of our boats will you snatch, we have many boats. Not only this, Anand Dubey also said that Congress has taken advantage of the Uddhav Thackeray brand.

Shiv Sena angry at Congress (UBT)
Anand Dubey accused Congress that when Congress was in need, it came to Shiv Sena (UBT) but now it wants to harm us by joining hands with BJP. Shiv Sena (UBT) also accused Congress of taking advantage of Uddhav Thackeray’s brand and his works. He said, ‘Congress wants to use the gun on our shoulders and want to benefit BJP. However, this is impossible. It will be difficult for Congress to even open an account and Congress will not be able to reach double digits in Mumbai.
What did you say about Rahul Gandhi?
Shiv Sena (UBT) is very angry with Rahul Gandhi and Congress and this anger is also visible from the statements of the party spokesperson. Abhay Dubey said that there are civic elections in Maharashtra and we do not think that Congress will be able to win any seat except one or two seats. He said, ‘Congress is like a tourist in Mumbai. What Amit Shah is saying is right. Rahul Gandhi is yet to pass the litmus test. Now Rahul Gandhi should know his party. We cannot say anything on this.
Told Congress as BJP’s ‘B’ team
Shiv Sena (UBT) has accused Congress of supporting BJP. Anand Dubey said, ‘Congress is working as the B team of BJP in Mumbai. The Congress party has stabbed us in the back. When Congress knows that the 2026 Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections are very important, on one side there is power, money, anarchy and money power and on the other side there is truth, justice, religion, then why are you fighting alone. Anand Dubey supported the statement of Congress leader Digvijay Singh and said that Congress should learn from RSS. He said that everything in Congress is going on with the trust of Ram but God is saying that at least you should also do some work.

Why did Congress separate?
Congress’s strategy is to connect minority, Dalit and migrant voters. The alliance of Maharashtra Navnirnana Sena and Shiv Sena (UBT) is making Congress uneasy. Shiv Sena’s past has also been of Hinduist aggressive politics but Congress had to form an alliance with Shiv Sena in 2019. For this, both Congress and Shiv Sena parties had taken steps. Shiv Sena had left its traditional image and tried to appear secular. Uddhav Thackeray has angered his ally Congress by joining hands with Raj Thackeray for the BMC elections.
