Congress in preparation to strengthen organization in Punjab, Bhupesh Baghel will visit the state from July 30 to August 8.

Knews Desk- After calming down the organizational differences that have emerged recently in Punjab, Congress is now fully engaged in preparations for the assembly elections. In this context, the party has decided to launch a comprehensive organizational campaign across the state. Punjab Congress in-charge and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will visit various districts of the state from July 30 to August 8.

During this, Bhupesh Baghel will hold meetings with district presidents, officials and senior leaders of Congress in every district. The objective of these meetings is to strengthen the organization, establish direct communication with the workers and prepare strategies for the upcoming assembly elections. A detailed plan will also be made to activate the organization from booth level to district level.

The political situation and organizational activities of each district will be reviewed in the meetings. Besides, feedback will be taken from the leaders on public relations campaign, organization expansion and election preparations, so that the party’s grassroots hold can be strengthened before the elections.

According to party sources, this visit of Bhupesh Baghel is being considered as the formal beginning of the election campaign of Punjab Congress. As part of his programme, after reaching Chandigarh on July 30, he will visit Fatehgarh Sahib and Mohali on July 31, Patiala and Sangrur on August 1, Barnala and Mansa on August 2, Bathinda and Sri Muktsar Sahib on August 3, Fazilka and Firozpur on August 4, Moga and Faridkot on August 5, Ludhiana (urban and rural) on August 6, Malerkotla on August 7. And Khanna and visit to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Ropar on 8th August.

It is noteworthy that a few weeks ago the dispute regarding the post of State President had deepened in Punjab Congress. Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and his supporters had expressed disagreement after the Congress leadership’s decision to keep Amarinder Singh Raja Wading as the state president. However, later on the initiative of the party leadership, talks took place between the two sides and the differences appeared to be reducing.

On July 16, Charanjit Singh Channi and his associates had a long meeting with Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal. After the meeting, Channi had said that he has put forward his views before the party leadership and now everything is normal in the party. He clarified that all the leaders are with the high command and maintaining the unity of the party is his priority. Now, with this unity, Congress has started accelerating the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections.
