Constitution gave us many rights, Constitution of India gave us the power of equal franchise: CM Yogi

Lucknow. A program was organized in the capital Lucknow on Constitution Day. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak and other BJP leaders participated in it. On this occasion he said that the Constitution has given us many rights. The Constitution of India has given the power of equal franchise. It is a big thing that the Constitution of India has given the power of equal franchise to every adult voter of all castes and religions who is a citizen of India.

Remember, most of the countries of the world consider themselves the fathers of modern democracy; they had people divided into caste groups. They discriminated among themselves and did not give voting power to each of their citizens, but when India held its first general election in 1952, due to our Constitution, every adult citizen of India was given equal voting rights.

The Chief Minister said, on 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution… We also conducted debates on civic duties in the Assembly and Legislative Council, these issues were discussed continuously. The debates that took place through the Constituent Assembly should be held in every institution. You will find issues and facts in it. You will get the opportunity to explore and learn a life philosophy about traveling to India

Also said that the public has taught a lesson to those who tried to strangle the Constitution of India. Said that the Constitution works to unite 140 crore Indians. Discharge of basic duties is the true tribute to Baba Saheb. Said that programs on the Constitution will be run throughout the year.
