Controversy over ‘Yadav ji’s love story’ ends, Supreme Court rejects petition, name will not change, know complete update

Country. After the controversy of ‘Ghushkhor Pandit’, now the film ‘Yadav Ji Ki Love Story’ was in the headlines for its title. The head of Vishwa Yadav Parishad had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to ban the film or change its name. The film depicts the marriage of a Hindu girl and a Muslim boy.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court rejected the petition and clarified that the name of the film does not portray the Yadav community in a negative light.

What did the Supreme Court say?
According to PTI, the bench of Justice BV Nagarathna and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan said that the petition claimed that the name of the film misrepresents the Yadav community. The court said,
“There is no word anywhere in the title of the film that shows the community in a negative light.”

Reference to ‘Bribery Pandit’-
Citing the case of ‘Ghooskhor Pandit’, the bench said that in that film the English word ‘Bribe’ (bribe) had a negative connotation, hence the title was asked to be changed. But in ‘Yadav Ji Ki Love Story’ no negativity was associated with the Yadav community. The court rejected the petition, considering it a fiction.

Release date-
The film ‘Yadav Ji Ki Love Story’ will be released in theaters on 27th February. The petitioner’s counsel claimed that the way a woman was portrayed in the film was not acceptable, but the bench did not accept it.

This decision brought relief to the film producers and keeping in mind the sentiments of different communities in the society, there was no restriction on the film titles.
