Conversation between PM Modi and Donald Trump, discussion on bilateral relations

New Delhi. There was a phone conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump. During this, India-America strategic partnership was discussed. Both leaders acknowledged that the rapidly strengthening relations between the two major democracies are playing an important role in global politics. The main focus of the talks was to deepen cooperation in areas like defence, energy, security and trade.

PM Modi gave this information on social media. “Had a very warm and engaging conversation with President Trump,” he wrote. We reviewed progress in our bilateral relations and discussed regional and international developments. India and the United States will continue to work together for global peace, stability and prosperity.

During the conversation, both the leaders emphasized that it is necessary to maintain the momentum to increase trade. Along with this, both of them also agreed that in the coming times, both the countries need to increase mutual cooperation in new technologies, defense and security.
