Most of the households like to use maize flour in winter. Some people make roti from it and some like to eat chausela from it. Till now you must have eaten gram flour or semolina dhokla. Today we are going to tell you how to make corn flour dhokla. Which you can try. So let us know the method of making corn flour dhokla.

Ingredients required to make Corn Flour Dhokla

– Corn flour – 1 cup
– Gram flour – 1/2 cup
– Curd – 1/2 cup
– Water – 1/2 cup (or as needed)
– Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
– Ginger-green chilli paste – 1 tsp
– Sugar – 1 tsp
– Salt – as per taste
– Eno (Fruit Salt) – 1 tsp or 1/2 tsp baking soda
– Oil – 1 tsp

For tempering:
– Oil – 1 tbsp
– Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
– Green chilli – 2-3 (cut lengthwise)
– Curry leaves – 6-7
– Sesame (optional) – 1 tsp
– Water – 1/4 cup
– Sugar – 1/2 tsp
– Lemon juice – 1 tsp

For garnish:
– Fresh coriander leaves – 2 tbsp (chopped)
Coconut shavings – 2 tbsp

How to make Corn Flour Dhokla

1. Preparing Dhokla Batter:
1. In a large bowl, mix corn flour, gram flour, curd, turmeric powder, ginger-green chilli paste, sugar and salt.
2. Add water little by little to make the batter thick and smooth.
3. Let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes.

2. Before Steaming:
1. Add eno to the batter and add 1 tsp water on top. It will start foaming.
2. Quickly stir the foam into the batter.

3. Steaming Dhokla:
1. Pour the batter in a greased plate.
2. Heat water in the steamer and place the thali in the steamer and steam the dhokla for 15-20 minutes.
3. Check the dhokla with a toothpick. If the toothpick comes out clean, the dhokla is ready.
4. When it cools down, cut the dhokla with a knife.

4. Preparing Tadka:
1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle.
3. Add green chillies, curry leaves and sesame seeds.
4. Add water, sugar and lemon juice and cook for 1 minute.
5. Pour this tadka over the prepared dhokla.

5. Garnish and serve:
– Garnish the dhokla with coriander leaves and coconut shavings.
– Serve it with green chutney and sweet chutney. Corn flour dhokla is a great and healthy option for breakfast or tiffin.
