PNB Digital Credit Card Launch: Punjab National Bank (PNB) has launched a very convenient facility for its customers to be the leader in digital payments. Now PNB customers will be able to link their ‘Rupee Credit Card’ directly with BHIM or any other UPI app. This eliminates the need to carry an actual credit card for small and large purchases.

Partnership with ‘Kiwi’ fintech company

It has partnered with fintech company ‘Kiwi’ to make digital transactions easier for its 18 crore customers. ‘Kiwi’ is known as a ‘Credit-on-UPI’ platform. The main objective of this initiative is to provide credit facility to customers through UPI; This makes the payment process more convenient for them. Under this partnership, the bank will introduce the ‘PNB Kiwi Credit Card’ on the ‘RuPay’ network. This will enable customers to make payments through UPI even when their bank account does not have enough balance. Let’s know in detail

Easy to use, plus cashback

This card will be fully digital and will be easily linked with UPI, making the payment process very easy. Additionally, users will get cashback ranging from 0.5% to 1.5% on online transactions. In other words, users will get cashback.

Digital card with no fees

This card will be issued in a fully digital format; This means, customers can apply online from the comfort of their homes. The paperwork required in the application process is minimal, making the process simple and quick. Most importantly, this card does not charge any ‘Joining Fee’ or ‘Annual Fee’; Which makes it a more convenient option for the general public.

Preparation for expansion in rural areas

Punjab National Bank Executive Director Bibhu Prasad Mohapatra mentioned that Digital Payments are growing rapidly across the country. UPI is playing an important role in this expansion. He said that the bank has a strong network of over 10,000 branches across the country; Out of which about 60 percent branches are located in semi-urban and rural areas. By making effective use of this network, the bank strives to extend formal credit facilities to those who have remained outside the formal financial system so far.
