Here, in order to make a reel, some youth created such a ‘horrible drama’ of their own kidnapping that it created panic from the police department to the teenager’s family. The police took prompt action in this case and arrested a total of eight accused, including three minors.

Ransom demanded from mother after shooting video
The matter is of Barra-8 area. The arrested accused prepared a fake video of the kidnapping of a teenager as part of a conspiracy. When the upset mother informed the police, the crime branch and the local police became active considering the high profile of the case. DCP (South) Deependranath Chaudhary told during the press conference that when the police started investigation and took the help of surveillance, the story turned out to be different. During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused did not intend to commit any crime, rather they wanted to shoot this entire incident as a ‘prank video’ and make it viral on social media.

The DCP said in a strict tone that wasting police alertness and resources on such pranks is a punishable offence. A case has been registered against the arrested accused under relevant sections and they have been sent to jail. The police administration has appealed to the parents to keep an eye on the social media activities of their children. Any kind of misleading content or ‘pranks’ challenging the law and order can have serious consequences.
