Shapoor Zadran: The condition of former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran is not good right now. He is currently admitted in a hospital in New Delhi and is undergoing treatment in the ICU. He has a fatal disease called HLH and he has been fighting it for several months. Let us tell you that Zadran played 44 ODI and 36 T20 International matches for Afghanistan from 2009 to 2020. Only last year he had announced his retirement from cricket and then his health deteriorated.

Shapoor Zadran fell ill last year

Shapoor Zadran’s younger brother Ghamai Zadran told that Shapoor had health problems in October last year and due to this he was advised to get treatment in India. With the help of Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan and ACB, he was admitted to New Delhi hospital on 19 January. Right now Zadran is fighting for his life. Speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, Ghamai said, ‘This is a very serious infection. It has affected his entire body and has spread to his brain as well.

Jadran’s health deteriorated again

Shapoor Zadran’s health had improved earlier but now HLH infection has returned. He has stage 4 of HLH. Giving an update on his brother, Ghamai Zadran said, ‘He was feeling well for the last 20 days but the infection has returned. He got fever and then in the test he was found to have dengue. His ability to fight diseases is very low and there is a deficiency of RBC in his body.

Dhamai further said, ‘We hope that he will gradually recover. The medicines given to him recently worked for him and have given us hope. Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan has helped Zadran a lot in difficult times and recently Mumbai Indians spin bowler Allah Ghazanfar also went to meet him.
