Cricketer Kanchan Kumari dies in road accident in Jammu and Kashmir Gujarati

The Indian cricket team is currently playing the Asia Cup 2025, where the team’s next match is with Pakistan on Sunday. The women’s cricket team is to play an ODI series against Australia before the World Cup, the first match of which will be played on Sunday. Meanwhile, a sad news came from Jammu and Kashmir, cricketer Kanchan Kumari died in a road accident.

Apart from being a cricketer, Kanchan Kumari was also a physics teacher who died in a road accident. The Youth Services and Sports Controller (YSS) expressed condolence on his death. YSS Director General Anuradha Gupta expressed condolences and described Kanchan as a dedicated and dynamic sportsperson. He said that Kanchan had an important contribution in the development of cricket and sports in Jammu and Kashmir.

Anuradha Gupta said in her condolence message, “We are shocked by the demise of this promising young talent. Kanchan Kumari was a dedicated player who represented the bright future of cricket in Jammu and Kashmir. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family members of Kanchan Kumari at this sad time. We pray to God to give her family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”

Talking about international cricket, the Indian women’s cricket team is playing an ODI series against Australia before the ODI World Cup. The first match of the 3-match series will be played at Maharaja Yadvinder Singh PCA Stadium on Sunday. The first match of the Women’s ODI World Cup will be played between India and Sri Lanka at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium on 30 September.
