Cricketer who earned crores in IPL became a leader, this is how his career ended

One such name is former Indian fast bowler Ashok Dinda, who is now playing his new innings on the political pitch after leaving the cricket field. Dinda, once famous for his fast bowling, is today in the headlines as a public representative.
This time a big change was seen in the politics of West Bengal, where Ashok Dinda won from Moyna assembly seat of the state. According to reports, he won by a margin of more than 16,000 votes. This is believed to be his second consecutive election success, which has further strengthened his political stature.
Talking about cricket career, Ashok Dinda represented many teams in IPL between 2008 and 2017. He started his IPL journey with Kolkata Knight Riders and later was a part of teams like Delhi Capitals, Pune Warriors, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rising Pune Supergiants.
In his IPL career, he played a total of 78 matches and took 69 wickets. His total earnings during this period are said to be around Rs 7.63 crore. His highest salary was received in 2012, while he last played in IPL in 2017. After this, he did not find any buyer in the 2018 auction and from here his IPL career ended.
Ashok Dinda also represented India in international cricket. He played 21 matches for the country and took 29 wickets. However, with time his place in the team diminished and eventually he retired from cricket in 2021.
Dinda, who was known for his fast bowling and death over specialist on the cricket field, his economy and aggression made him special. But now the same players are busy creating their new identity in politics.
His journey from cricket to politics is an example of how players can be successful in new roles even after their careers. Ashok Dinda is now playing his new innings not just as a former cricketer but as an active leader among the public.
