So far this year, a total of 23 cricketers have joined the retirement list, which includes 8 big names of India. Players who retired from India include Varun Aaron, Wriddhiman Saha, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Piyush Chawla, Cheteshwar Pujara, Mohit Sharma and Amit Mishra. After retiring from T20I last year, Indian legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma made the entire cricket world emotional by bidding farewell to Test cricket in 2025. These players retired from test cricket
Veterans like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli took an emotional turn in Indian cricket by saying goodbye to Test cricket this year. Both the players strengthened the backbone of Team India with their brilliant batting in the Test format for more than a decade, but in 2025 they decided to end their Test journey.

Sri Lanka’s experienced all-rounder Angelo Mathews also announced his retirement from Test cricket this year. Mathews made match-winning contributions to the Sri Lankan team with his all-round performances over a long period of time and remained an important pillar of the Test team.

Many cricketers have said goodbye to ODIs this year, including Australia’s Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith as well as Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim.
