Investigation revealed that the accused used to stay in touch through encrypted apps and VoIP calls and used to transact money through Hawala.

Police have arrested 10 key operatives of this gang operating from the Walled City (Old Delhi) area of ​​Delhi.

The police officer said that under the supervision of Inspector Man Singh of Crime Branch’s Anti Robbery Snatching Cell, the team of Inspector Sunder Gautam and others scrutinized the call records of the suspects through technical monitoring. With the help of informers, his movements were analyzed for months. After this, on March 13-14, based on concrete information, a raid was conducted and gang members Rahil, Hashim, Sam, Sonu Gupta, Ghanshyam, Wasim, Nishant, Nawab, Nauman and Naushad were arrested.

Police have recovered 21 deadly foreign weapons and 200 live cartridges from them. The recovered weapons include Czech Republic-made sub-machine guns, Turkey’s Stoeger, China’s PX-3, Italy’s Beretta, Brazil’s Taurus and Germany’s Walther pistols and especially the PX-5.7 pistol, which is generally used only by special forces.

During interrogation, the accused have revealed that the mastermind of this module is Shahbaz Ansari (resident of Bulandshahr, UP). He used to source weapons from Pakistan, which were smuggled into India through the borders of Nepal and Bangladesh. These modern weapons were to be supplied to the dreaded criminal gangs of Delhi-NCR and North India.

Investigation revealed that the accused were using densely populated areas like Jama Masjid and Ajmeri Gate as hiding weapons and transit zones. To avoid being caught, these people resorted to encrypted messaging apps, VoIP calls and frequently changing SIM cards. Money transactions were done entirely through the Hawala network.

Investigation revealed that the accused first sent the weapons to Nepal via the Middle East, where they were reassembled and smuggled into India. After this, they were brought to Delhi by road and sold to criminals at a high price. Police have recovered 21 sophisticated foreign weapons including a submachine gun and 200 live cartridges from the possession of the accused.
