FIFA World Cup Croatia vs Panama: In the Group L match of FIFA World Cup 2026, Croatia gave a strong performance and defeated Panama 1-0. With this victory at the Toronto Stadium, Croatia also achieved three important points.
With the defeat against Croatia, Panama’s hopes of reaching the next round have also ended. Croatia achieved this important victory in the 200th match of the team’s star player Luka Modric. Luka Modric has been a regular part of Croatia’s last 21 matches at the FIFA World Cup. This brilliant streak started in his second group stage match played against Japan in 2006 and since then he has been contributing for Croatia in every match.
Panama played much better than Croatia in the first half at the Toronto Stadium. Panama had a great chance to score in the 23rd minute when Jose Luis Rodriguez hit a powerful header. However, Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic made a brilliant save to tip the ball onto the crossbar and save the goal.
However, after the second half, Croatia strengthened its hold in the match. Croatia was successful in taking a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute of the match. Josip Stanisic’s brilliant low cross from the right was converted by substitute Ante Budimir.
