Dhanbad: Rumors of child theft are spreading widely in Jharkhand these days. In many districts, cases of mob going on rampage over rumor of child theft have come to light. The latest case has come to light from Dhanbad. An unknown youth was caught by the mob on Thursday night in Mahtotand village of Rajganj police station area on the rumor of child lifter. The young man was beaten severely with sticks, due to which he was seriously injured. Local head Manoj Mahato and some social workers, who came to intervene, also had to face the anger of the crowd. They were misbehaved and lathicharged.
