Crowd at malls during Diwali, people are taking advantage of discounts

Jitendra Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Surya Roshni, said that when it comes to festivals, most people spend more money than usual, because it is a special occasion when buyers spend more money. He has said that not only urban centers but also semi-urban centers are registering stable growth during the festival season.
Strong demand in online sector
Chirag Gupta, Founder and CEO of premium snacks company 4700BC, is excited about this year's demand as his festive delicacies have seen a 20 to 25 percent increase in demand. Cash flow has started for brands selling goods online during festivals. As in previous years, strong demand continues in the online sector.

significant increase
For example, online marketplace Snapdeal has seen an increase of 1.8 times in value terms in its sales during festivals. Snapdeal spokesperson has said that 2.5 times growth was seen in women's goods i.e. fashion, double growth in children's goods and 1.6 times growth in home decor i.e. decoration goods. A significant increase has been seen in these categories as compared to last year.
64 lakh liquor bottles
The sale of liquor also increases significantly during Diwali. According to Excise Department data, in just 3 days before Diwali last year, people in Delhi bought 64 lakh liquor bottles worth about Rs 121 crore.
Growing interest in drinking experiences
Amar Sinha, Chief Operating Officer, Radico Khaitan Limited, has said that one of the main reasons for this is the liking of liquor as a gift during festivals. It is closely associated with celebrations and social gatherings. Sinha said that this year we expect this trend to continue and liquor sales to continue to grow, driven by a growing consumer base and increasing interest in unique beverage experiences.
