CSK vs RCB Rivalry: Ruckus over ‘Dosa-Idli’ song, Chennai Super Kings made official complaint to BCCI

News India Live, Digital Desk: The rivalry between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2026 has now moved beyond the field to the corridors of BCCI. CSK has expressed displeasure over the song ‘Dosa, Idli, Sambar, Chutney’ and the comments of the DJ during the match played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on 5 April 2026.

Managing Director of CSK Kashi Viswanathan Said clearly on this matter that the job of the DJ is to cheer for the home team, not to insult the rival players. He told: “Usually DJs are there to support the home team, but the situation was different at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Some comments were made against our players, in view of which we have written a letter to BCCI to investigate the matter.”

Root of controversy: Old history

This controversy is not new. It started in the last season (2025) when RCB shared a video in which the wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma Was heard singing lines from this song. In response, when Jitesh was out at Chepauk Stadium (Chennai), the DJ there also trolled him by playing the same song. However, the CSK management then gave strict instructions to its DJs not to make such comments against the opponents.

BCCI and IPL Council’s reaction

A top IPL official has confirmed that they have received an official complaint from CSK. According to reports, the IPL Governing Council is now investigating the matter to see if the code of conduct was violated during in-stadium entertainment.
