CSK vs SRH: Chennai lost by 5 wickets, Hyderabad qualified for playoff
The 63rd match of IPL 2026 was played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). This match was very important for both the teams from the point of view of playoffs. In this exciting match played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on 18th May, Sunrisers Hyderabad played brilliantly and defeated Chennai by 5 wickets. With this victory, Hyderabad has confirmed its place in the playoffs.
CSK innings
Chennai team lost wickets continuously but did not let the pace of scoring runs slow down. Batting first, CSK scored 57 runs after losing 2 wickets in the powerplay. After this, between 7 and 15 overs the team lost 2 wickets but added 75 runs. However, Chennai could not finish big in the death overs and could score only 48 runs after losing 3 wickets between 16 and 20 overs. For this reason, Chennai Super Kings could reach only 180 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.
For Chennai, Dewald Brevis scored the highest score of 44 runs. Karthik Sharma played an inning of 32 runs, while Sanju Samson scored 27 runs. On the other hand, captain Pat Cummins bowled brilliantly for Hyderabad and took maximum 3 wickets. Saqib Hussain got 2 wickets, while Ishan Malinga and Prafulla Hinge took 1 wicket each.
