Cucumber Raita Recipe: Cucumber Raita is a very tasty, cool and healthy side dish, which is especially liked in summers. It makes food light and easy to digest. This combination of curd and cucumber cools the body and also enhances the taste. Cucumber Raita is a traditional Indian dish, which uses curd, grated cucumber and spices. It is usually served with pulao, biryani or paratha.
Ingredients for Cucumber Raita Recipe
- 1 cup fresh curd
- 1 medium sized cucumber (grated)
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black salt
- salt as per taste
- 1-2 green chillies (finely chopped)
- A little coriander (chopped)
How to Make Cucumber Raita
- Wash the cucumber and grate it.
- If there is too much water in the cucumber then squeeze it lightly.
- Take curd in a bowl and beat it well.
- Add grated cucumber to the whipped curd.
- Add salt and black salt as per taste in it.
- Add roasted cumin powder.
- Add finely chopped green chillies (optional).
- Mix everything well.
- Garnish with green coriander and Serve chilled.

Tips to Make Perfect Cucumber Raita
- Always use fresh and cold curd.
- Removing the cucumber water will not make the raita too thin.
- You can also add a little chaat masala to enhance the taste.
