Cummins Retained as Captain by SRH Ahead of IPL 2025 Mega Auction

The IPL 2024 finalists SRH has retained Pat Cummins along with Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

With these five confirmed, it will be interesting to see the franchises’ choices in the upcoming event in November. After completing in 8th, 8th and 10th positions in the 2021,22, and 23 campaigns, Hyderabad bounced back as they were the runners in the 2024 season.

With a total of INR 75 Crore having been used for the retention, Hyderabad will be moving into the mega auction with a remaining purse value of INR 45 Crore.

With a fresh three-year cycle starting with the IPL 2025 season next year, the upcoming retentions will be crucial for all the teams to adopt new strategies for success.

The IPL 2025 Mega Auction will take place in November or December with BCCI exploring the options of holding the event overseas, Riyadh in the United Arab Emirates has emerged as the frontrunner while Muscat, Doha and Riyadh are also being considered.
