Delhi IGI Airport: Marijuana worth Rs 23 crores caught at Delhi IGI Airport, the accused had brought it hidden in a trolley bag.

Delhi IGI Airport: Marijuana worth Rs 23 crore has been seized at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport i.e. Delhi IGI Airport. The Customs Department took action and arrested two accused with 23.936 kg of marijuana. The value of which has been estimated at Rs 23.936 crore. Two Indian passengers have been arrested in this case.

According to customs officials, both the passengers had reached Delhi’s Terminal-3 on flight number 6E-1070 from Krabi, Thailand on 22 February 2026. Based on the profiling of the passengers, the authorities became suspicious of them. After which they were stopped at the Green Channel and their luggage was thoroughly examined including X-ray screening.

During investigation, officials recovered a total of 14 polythene packets from both the trolley bags. Of these, 8 packets were hidden in gray and yellow colored trolley bags, while 6 packets were hidden in dark green and white colored trolley bags. The total net weight of the recovered drugs was found to be 23,936 grams.

Accused in police custody

Initial investigation and diagnostic tests revealed that the recovered substance appeared to be Ganja/Marijuana. After this, the Customs Department arrested both the passengers under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. The officials have taken the seized drugs and packing material into their custody.
