To build trust, the thug called the then Collector of Morena Ankit Asthana and asked him to talk to the Deputy Collector. On the instructions of the Collector, Mahor made the call and committed the fraud.

According to the information, Arvind Singh Mahor was SDM in Sabalgarh tehsil of Morena district in the month of September. During that time, a woman and her daughter accused him of indecency, the video of which went viral.

Mahor was suspended on September 19 on the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The swindler took advantage of this suspension and investigation process.

The Cyber ​​Fraud Deputy Collector called the Deputy Collector several times, calling himself ‘Ashwani’, an employee of the Chief Minister’s Office. When the call was not received, he called the then Collector of Morena and asked him to talk to the Deputy Collector. Mahor made the call on the request of the Collector.

After this, on the pretext of concluding the investigation, the fraudster got a total of Rs 2.95 lakh transferred to five different accounts through pay-wallet between September 19 and October 1.

When the swindler asked for Rs 1 lakh more, Mahor became suspicious. After the suspension ended on Saturday, he lodged a complaint of cyber fraud.

Gwalior ASP Anu Beniwal said that a case has been registered in Thatipur police station under e-zero FIR and investigation is going on. This incident serves as a serious warning on the increasing incidents of cyber crimes against administrative officials and shows that no high-ranking official is safe.
