Cyber ​​fraudster stole 99 thousand rupees from police personnel’s account without OTP, Bareilly Kotwali police started investigation.

Bareilly : The courage of cyber criminals is becoming so high that now even policemen are not able to escape from their trap. About Rs 99 thousand were withdrawn from the bank account of an employee posted in the Police Control Room without any OTP, call or prior information. On the complaint of the victim, Kotwali Police has registered a case and started investigation.

Idreesh Khan, posted in Police Control Room, Police Lines Bareilly, told in his complaint to the Kotwali Police that on November 11, 2025, suddenly he started receiving messages of deducting money from his bank account. A total of Rs 98,999 was withdrawn through 5 different transactions without any OTP or call. As soon as information about the incident was received, the victim immediately lodged a complaint on Cyber ​​Crime Helpline 1930. Due to prompt action, an amount of Rs 24,999 was put on hold, but the cyber thugs were successful in withdrawing the remaining amount.

The victim says that he had not shared any kind of bank related information with anyone, yet the withdrawal of money from the account points towards serious cyber fraud. Kotwali Police has registered a case of cyber fraud on the basis of the complaint. According to the police, transaction details are being obtained from the bank and with the help of cyber cell, efforts are being made to identify the accused and reach them. Investigation of the matter is ongoing.
