DA increased by 3% for 7.50 lakh employees of the state, Finance Department’s order issued, arrears will be received in 6 equal installments, salary will increase in the account in May.
There is good news for the government employees of Madhya Pradesh. Finance Department, Madhya Pradesh Government has issued orders for increase in dearness allowance. After this the DA rate has increased from 55 percent to 58 percent. The benefit of increased dearness allowance will be given along with the salary of April in May 2026, that is, the increased amount will be received along with 58% DA in the salary received in the month of May. 7.50 lakh government employees of the state will benefit from this.
Let us tell you that before Holi, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav had announced increase in dearness allowance while giving a gift to the employees of the state. After this, the proposal to increase dearness allowance was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on 23 March 2026 (Monday) and now the Finance Department has issued orders on 2 April 2026.
DA of state employees increased by 3%, arrears to be paid in 6 installments
According to the order issued by the Finance Department, the dearness allowance given to the employees under the seventh pay scale has been increased by 3 percent, after which the dearness allowance has increased from 55 percent to 58 percent. This increased dearness allowance will be considered as a total of 58 percent payable from July 1, 2025. However, employees will receive its actual benefits from April 1, 2026 (payment month May 2026). Since the new rates of dearness allowance will be applicable from July 1, 2025, the arrear amount from July 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026 will be paid in six equal installments. These installments will be paid in May, June, July, August, September and October 2026.
Special provisions for retired and deceased employees
In the order issued by the Finance Department, it has been clarified that the entire amount of arrears will be given in lump sum to the employees who have retired or who have died between July 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, or their nominated members. In calculating dearness allowance, amounts 50 paise or more will be rounded to the next whole rupee, while amounts less than 50 paise will be discarded. It has also been clarified that no part of dearness allowance will be considered as part of salary for any other purpose. Instructions have been given to all the departments that the expenditure on payment of dearness allowance should be ensured within the approved budget provision of the concerned department.
MP DA HIKE: Salary will increase from Rs 465 to Rs 4230
With the 3 percent DA increase, the salary of Class IV employees is likely to increase from Rs 465 to Rs 556, the salary of Class III employees from Rs 585 to Rs 1473, the salary of Class II officers from Rs 1683 to 2019 and the salary of Class I officers from Rs 2397 to Rs 4230.
- First Class – Rs 2397 to Rs 4230
- Second Class – Rs 1683 to 2019
- Third class – Rs 585 to 1473
- Fourth class – Rs 465 to Rs 556
Dearness relief for pensioners also increased by 3 percent
The Finance Department has also issued orders for 3 percent dearness relief to 4.50 lakh pensioners of the state, after which the dearness relief rate has increased from 55 percent to 58 percent. The new rates will be applicable from January 2026, so arrears for the months of January, February and March will also be paid. The increased pension will be paid in April. Let us inform that the consent was given on the letter of Chhattisgarh Government dated February 9, 2026, approving 58 percent pension relief under the seventh pay scale and 257 percent under the sixth pay scale to the pensioners and family pensioners of the state government from January 01, 2026.
