Bollywood Updates: Indian cricket legend and former captain Sourav Ganguly celebrated his 54th birthday on Wednesday. On this special occasion, his fans also got a big gift. The first poster of Ganguly’s biopic, which was in discussion for a long time, has finally been released. The film has been named ‘Dada: The Sourav Ganguly Story’. In this, actor Rajkumar Rao will be seen playing the role of former Indian captain. As soon as the poster was released, excitement about the film has increased on social media.

In the first look, Rajkummar Rao is seen recreating the historic moment when Sourav Ganguly celebrated the victory by waving his jersey on the balcony of Lord’s after defeating England in the 2002 NatWest Trophy final. This is considered to be one of the most memorable scenes in the history of Indian cricket and now it will be shown on the big screen as well.

On the occasion of poster launch, Sourav Ganguly expressed happiness and said that every birthday is special in itself but seeing the first glimpse of the film based on his life on this very day is a very memorable moment for him. He called it the most special birthday gift of his life. Ganguly praised Rajkumar Rao and said that he has prepared for this character with full dedication and seriousness. He also wished all the people associated with the film and expressed hope that the audience will like this story on the big screen. The film is being directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, while its producers are Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg. The makers have announced that ‘Dada: The Sourav Ganguly Story’ will release in theaters across the country on May 14, 2027.
