New Delhi: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Barmer district. Where a Dalit youth was beaten by hanging him upside down from a tree. The video of this entire incident is going viral. In the video the young man can be seen shouting and pleading with the villagers. Gudamalani police station in-charge Mukta Pareek said that the victim youth has been identified as Shravan Meghwal. The incident happened on Friday, when some people of the village hanged him upside down from a tree and beat him badly. Initial investigation revealed that the accused had accused the young man of theft.
Case registered
Based on the complaint of the victim, a case has been registered against 5-6 people. Taking the incident seriously, Barmer Police has started investigation. According to Barmer SP Narendra Singh Meena, the victim Shravan Meghwal was arrested last month while stealing a bike from a local fair. He was released on bail. After this the villagers again accused him of bike theft, which he rejected.
