Adani Energy gets big order, will dominate this sector

New Delhi : India's largest power transmission and distribution company Adani Energy Solutions Limited i.e. AESL has acquired two new transmission projects. With this order, the company's order book has increased to Rs 54,700 crore. This is more than 3 times the orders received at the beginning of the current financial year 2024-25.

Investment banking company Jefferies has informed in a report that Adani Energy Solutions acquired 2 new transmission projects worth Rs 28,455 crore related to the Renewable Energy Park in Rajasthan in the October to December quarter. These projects include the Rs 25,000 crore Bhadla-Fatehpur HVDC projects, which is Adani Energy Solutions' largest order till date.

These orders have increased the company's market value in fee-based competitive bidding (TBCB) to 24 percent from 17 percent in the second quarter. Adani Energy Solutions' current order book now stands at Rs 54,700 crore, compared to Rs 17,000 crore at the beginning of FY 2024-25. This has the highest order book among all the private sector transmission companies. During the quarter, the company commissioned a transmission line, adding more than 1,000 circuit kilometers to its network.

The Company believes that Adani Energy Solutions Limited offers an edge over any other publicly traded utility/energy company in the US, Europe or Asia. We estimate that from the last financial year i.e. 2023-24 to FY 2026-27, the company's total revenue average may grow at an annual rate of 20 percent and adjusted interest and tax depreciation may increase at an annual rate of 28.8 percent.
