Datia Collector Patwari suspended Viral Video: During a public hearing in Datia, Madhya Pradesh, there was a stir when the collector’s temper reached sky high. When the IAS officer, who usually looks calm, saw the negligence of a government employee, he could not control himself. In the full court, he not only reprimanded the Patwari, but also issued an order to suspend him on the spot. Datia Collector Swapnil Wankhede is in the news these days for his tough decisions and zero tolerance policy towards work. On Wednesday he had reached Basai area to listen to the problems of the people. During this camp, the villagers complained about Patwari Shailendra Sharma. People alleged that Patwari works under pressure from politicians instead of listening to the general public. The limit reached when the Patwari tried to give wrong information to the Collector in the case of a public drain.

When the lie is caught, the temperature rises
The policemen and local people present on the spot were clearly stating that there was a drain there, but the Patwari was continuously lying that there was no drain there. This lie alone displeased the collector. He scolded the Patwari in front of everyone and said that when the police and the public are all saying that there was a drain, then why are you lying. While narrating to the Patwari, he reminded that the government employees do not work for the politicians but for the public and the public’s work should be the priority.

Collector Swapnil Wankhede immediately instructed his subordinate officers that this man will no longer be in the job, suspend him with immediate effect. He instructed in a strict tone that now whichever new Patwari comes here, he should be intelligent. He should be one who works for the people and not revolves around the leaders. Apart from this, after finding irregularities in the cow shed inspection, he has also served a notice to a senior veterinary doctor. This swift action of the DM has created panic among the government employees of the entire district and the message is clear that negligence in work will no longer be tolerated.
