Davos 2025: India’s Economic Blueprint – Ashwini Vaishnaw to lead panel discussion
Davos: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will engage in a discussion over Indian economy’s growth with Shobana Kamineni, the executive vice-chairperson of Apollo Hospitals, Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman and Managing Director of Bajaj Finserv, and Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, DP World, on the rising Indian economy. The panel discussion will take place at around 5 pm on January 23, 2025.
Topic of discussion: India is the world’s fastest-growing major economy, growing at over 8 per cent in the past year. This growth has been buoyed by a focus on promoting local innovation and start-ups in technology and manufacturing, representing a departure from traditional export-oriented models. The panel will deliberate on how India capitalised on this new blueprint and to what extent can it continue to drive global growth?
Meanwhile, Vaishnaw, who is in Davos to attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, on Wednesday, stressed that India has emerged as the most trusted place amid disruptions across the word.
Addressing a press conference in Davos, the Union Minister said that global investors and leaders are convinced about India’s potential.
“Despite all disruptions across the world, India has emerged as a trusted place. This is a country that believes in peace, inclusion and growth for everyone,” Ashwini Vaishnaw, who is the Minister of Railways and Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, said.
