Days after separation from wife Saira Banu, AR Rahman makes BIG statament, ‘I am….’

Recently music maestro AR Rahman has been bagging the headlines. On Tuesday, Rahman’s wife Saira Banu announced separation, which jolted the entire industry and his fans. Amid the separation, AR Rahman again made headlines and this time because of his incredible music. The music composer bagged the Best Background Music award for the Malayalam movie The Goat Life at the 2024 Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA).

The Oscar-winning composer received the award for score – independent film (foreign language) at a ceremony held at the Avalon Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The award was received by the director of the film Blessy on Rahman’s behalf. However, in a video message, Rahman on his big win said, “It’s an incredible honour to receive this award for the best score for the foreign language film The Goat Life. I am deeply grateful to the Hollywood Music and Media Awards for recognising this score.”

The movie ‘The Goat Life’ was based on the 2008 bestselling novel Aadujeevitham by Benyamin. The movie is about a labourer from Aarattupuzha village in Haripad, Najeeb, who struggles to meet his daily needs. In the wake of better opportunities, he moves to the Middle East for work. However, little did he know that his life would turn down.

Coming back to AR Rahman’s win, the music composer in the video also said, “I share this moment with my amazing team of musicians and technicians, director Blessy and everyone who believed in the vision we brought to life. To my fans and supporters worldwide, thank you for your unwavering, love, and inspiration.”
