DC vs RCB IPL 2026: 18-year-old Sahil Parakh, a Delhi Capitals batter, had a forgettable IPL debut as he failed to open his account against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, on Monday. Parakh was undone by a brilliant inswinging yorker from veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumarwhich uprooted his middle stump. The Maharashtra-born batter, who replaced Pathum Nissanka in the DC playing XI, was handed opening duties alongside KL Rahul.
In his nascent career, the 18-year-old has only two T20 appearances for Maharashtra. His inclusion in the XI was a tactical decision, as confirmed by DC captain Axar Patel. With Good luck sidelined due to a head injury and Mukesh Kumar struggling for form, DC opted for overseas reinforcements, Kyle Jamieson and Dushmantha Chameera, to strengthen their bowling attack. Parakh was also recently in the news after suffering a facial injury during a Delhi Capitals training session.
